HOW DOES HELPR WORK?

For parents: Book a screened sitter in as little as three hours on the Helpr app, which you can download on the App Store. Our pool of highly screened sitters are on-call when you need them most. You pay only for the hours booked, so there are no monthly fees.

For employers: Helpr create custom packages to let you support employees with kids. You are looped into the cost of care for a set number of backup hours, after which point employees can pay the full hourly fee.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Rates vary by location, number of children, and notice given for the booking. Cost is always listed upfront in the app, so there are no surprises. You only pay by the hour, so there are no monthly subscription fees.

WHO ARE THE HELPRS?

Helprs are pre-screened professional babysitters with extensive experience, nurturing demeanors, and strong work ethics. They range from graduate students to former nannies to kindergarten teachers. They must have at least two years of childcare experience.

 

WHAT'S THE SCREENING PROCESS?

We conduct an in-person interview, background check, ID verification, CPR certification check, qualitative phone-based reference checks, FAMA social media check, and community monitoring.

DO I GET TO MEET MY HELPR BEFORE THEY ARRIVE TO WORK?

Helprs are introduced to you by photo, video, and profile on the Helpr app. If you’d like time together with your children, we recommend booking your Helpr at least an additional fifteen minutes before you need to head out.

You can also book a Helpr for an interview or trial run while you’re home to get to know each other and see how they interact with your kids.
 

CAN I CHANGE HELPRS IF THE PERSONALITY FIT OF THE SELECTED SITTER DOESN’T FEEL RIGHT?

Yes. You can cancel the job and rebook. You can always call support at (877) 417-4883 to give you a hand.

 

I HAVE A CHALLENGE WITH MY HELPR. WHAT DO I DO?

Call us immediately at (877) 417-4883. We have support from 5am - 6pm Monday - Friday.

 

MY HELPR WAS AMAZING. HOW CAN I HIRE THEM AGAIN?

Every Helpr you work with is saved in your account unless you ask us to delete them. If you’ve had positive experiences with certain Helprs, they’re always requested first before we reach out to new Helprs.

 

HOW DO I PAY FOR MY HELPR’S PARKING AT MY HOTEL?

Most hotels have tough street parking. If yours does, have your Helpr charge their parking to your room. Just call and let them know ahead of time!

 

WHAT IF WE GO OVER THE TIME SCHEDULED?

Please contact your Helpr through the app or via phone to let them know you’ll need them to stay later. They will do their best to accommodate your request.

 

WHAT IF WE GO UNDER THE TIME SCHEDULED?

We will always charge for 75% of the time requested or the 4 hour minimum, whichever is more. This helps us keep top babysitters happy and available for the next time.

 

WHAT IS THE BILLING PROCEDURE?

After your Helpr booking is complete, you will be charged within 2 business days for the final hours used. This will be reflected in your account under ‘past bookings,’ and you will receive a receipt via email as well. 

 

SHOULD I TIP MY HELPR?

Email us at hello@helpr-app.com to add gratuity within 24 hours of your helpr leaving. We'll take care the rest when we pay your helpr.

 

WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY?

There’s no fee if you cancel more than 24 hours before the start time. The cancellation fee is the 4 hour minimum (or 75%) of the total time booked, whichever is more. We do this out of respect for our sitters’ time.

If you book a job with less than 24 hours notice, you have a 30 minute grace period to cancel before you’re charged a fee. Also, if you cancel before you are assigned a sitter, you are not charged a cancellation fee.

Yes! We’re committed to supporting all families and #allkids. We appreciate full disclosure when booking so that we can best find the perfect match.
